Financial Aid

Welcome to the Stritch School of Medicine

Attending medical school is a significant investment—one that can lead to invaluable professional and personal rewards. We recognize the substantial financial commitment and sacrifice that students and their families make in pursuing a medical degree. Our goal is to help make your education as affordable as possible by offering a variety of financial aid options.

On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed a reconciliation bill (the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," or OBBBA), which includes numerous changes to federal financial aid programs, effective July 1, 2026. While the final rules and regulations have not yet been released, we are actively reviewing the legislation and will continue to share updates as additional guidance becomes available from the U.S. Department of Education and other relevant authorities. Read additional information regarding the expected changes.

In addition to Loyola scholarships and grants, Stritch participates in the federal Title IV financial aid program, which includes the Federal Direct Unsubsidized loan programs. Students may also utilize private student loan funding. Scholarships and grants are considered gift aid and do not require repayment, while loans are borrowed funds that generally accrue interest while the student is in school and must be repaid.
